Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets were able to force a Game 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a chance to go to the Western Conference Finals. When Game 7 was played on Sunday afternoon, it was clear that the Nuggets didn’t stand a chance.

All game long, the Thunder were clearly the better team. When the final whistle blew, the final score was 125-93.

Despite the season being on the line, Denver simply didn’t get a major performance from anyone. Jokic scored 20 points to go along with nine rebounds and seven assists, but he only took nine shots in the game. Jamal Murray scored just 13 points on 6-for-16 shooting.

On the other side of the court, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander went off for Oklahoma City. He scored 35 points, made 12 of his 19 shot attempts, dished out four assists, grabbed three rebounds, and recorded three steals. Jalen Williams chipped in 24 points in the win as well.

Following the disappointing loss and the end of the Nuggets’ season, Jokic shared an epic reaction to the Game 7 blowout.

“The next couple of days is gonna be a lot of beer probably,” he said.

Denver went through a lot during the 2024-25 NBA season. Late in the year, the Nuggets made the difficult decision to fire head coach Michael Malone.

David Adelman did a great job stepping in as the interim head coach. He led the team to a tough series win over the Los Angeles Clippers and nearly beat the best team in the league during the regular season in round two.

Only time will tell what the offseason has in store. Denver still has a team put together to win, but some offseason moves might be needed to get back to the top.

Jokic finished his 2024-25 season with averages of 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, 10.2 assists, and 1.8 steals, while shooting 57.6% from the floor and 41.7% from 3-point range.
