Bombshell Report Reveals What Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic ‘Wasn’t Happy About'

Despite being in fourth place in the Western Conference standings, the Denver Nuggets fired general manager Calvin Booth and head coach Michael Malone on Tuesday.

Malone (510-394 record) has the most wins in Denver franchise history. He guided the team to the 2023 championship, defeating the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals.

Booth and Malone may have won a title together in 2023, but they reportedly didn’t have a good relationship at all. Their rift created dysfunction in the Denver organization, so much so that team president Josh Kroenke concluded that Booth and Malone had to go.

Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic saw what was going on between Booth and Malone, and according to ESPN, the three-time MVP “wasn’t happy about” it.

According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon and Ramona Shelburne, “Jokic may not have sounded off publicly at any of this dysfunction. But he bore witness to it all season and wasn’t happy about it, sources said.”

A team source told ESPN: “Joker is really good at letting you know how he feels without saying anything.”

Kroenke is willing to do whatever it takes to keep Jokic happy, so he stunningly fired Booth and Malone with the 2024-25 regular season almost over. The Nuggets won their first game in the post-Malone era under interim head coach David Adelman, beating the Sacramento Kings on the road.

“Josh got the response that he wanted,” Jokic said after the Nuggets beat the Kings. “People say that we are vulnerable. But the beast is always the strongest, or the most dangerous, when they’re vulnerable. So maybe he woke up the beast.”

A future Hall of Famer, Jokic can sign a three-year, $212 million extension with the Nuggets this offseason. As long as Denver keeps the big man happy, most people around the NBA believe Jokic will sign that extension, per ESPN.
