BREAKING: Jamal Murray Makes Loud Statement as Nuggets Are ‘Overlooked’ Before Playoffs

April 18, 2025

The Denver Nuggets are back in familiar territory.

Back in the playoffs for the seventh-straight season, the Nuggers prepare for what should be a hard-fought series against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Nuggets finished the season at 50-32, the same record as the Clippers.

A tiebreaker awarded the Nuggets with home-court advantage in this series. That could loom large, as the Clippers were one of the best teams on their home court at 30-11, but were just 20-21 on the road.

Jamal Murray states the Nuggets are being “overlooked”

If there’s one player on the Nuggets who isn’t afraid of the bright lights of the playoffs, it’s point guard Jamal Murray.

While they’re perhaps not the Nuggets teams of years past, Murray didn’t seem phased.

“We’ve always been overlooked,” Murray said. “What’s new?”

Similar to Jimmy Butler, Murray has become known for boosting his performance during the playoffs.

Back in 2020, during the bubble playoffs, went from averaging 18.5 points per game in the regular season to 26.5 and 45% from deep. He also became more of a facilitator, going from 4.8 assists per game to 6.6.

The same thing happened when the Nuggets went on their NBA Finals run. Murray seemingly turned into a different player, going from 20 points per game to 26.1 and 39% from deep. His assist numbers went up again, going from 6.2 to 7.1 per game.

The Nuggets will surely need a similar performance from Murray against the Clippers.

Murray is going to have to work hard on both ends, as he’ll likely be matched against James Harden, but could be moved onto Kris Dunn in an attempt to give him a break at some point.

The Nuggets opened as favorites according to the oddsmakers, but the line quickly shifted in favor of the Clippers, where they now sit at -118.
