Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James finished his 22nd NBA season on a low note, falling 4-1 to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.

In Game 5 against the Timberwolves on April 30, LeBron James recorded 22 points on 9-of-21 shooting, along with seven rebounds and six assists. However, had the Lakers advanced, they likely would have been without James moving forward.

A day after the loss, an MRI revealed that James had suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee. This typically takes around three to five weeks to fully heal.

Throughout the remainder of the postseason, James was forced to stay off his knee and was unable to practice. However, that has since changed.

On Monday, one day after the Oklahoma City Thunder won the NBA Finals, James posted an update on Instagram revealing he was finally able to get back on the court. He also gave shoutouts to Kevin Love and Chris Brickley.

"Man it felt good to get back out there today for the first time since my MCL injury(Almost 8 weeks ago)," LeBron wrote on Instagram. "Been at it with my rehab & training regiment to get back to form. Obviously not where I wanna be ultimately but off to a good start. Damn what a GREAT FEELING!! S/O my ♾️ brother @kevinlove for allowing me to crash his workout! And also S/O @cbrickley603 for always looking out when I'm in the city! 🙏🏾🫡 👑"

NBA fans took notice of LeBron's latest post, taking to the comment section on Instagram to leave their thoughts.

"Always committed!! A true 🐐!!" one fan said.

"Back in the lab let’s go!!" added another.

"This man is never retiring," joked a third.

"Bro he has 5 more season if we’re being (expletive)," wrote a fourth.

"5 more seasons left," commented a fifth..

"All these injuries making me wonder how you went to the finals 9 years in a row 😂😭," replied a sixth.

James will now look forward to the 2025-26 NBA season, his first full year alongside Luka Doncic. But the Lakers have a few areas to improve in the offseason, starting with the center position.
