NBA Makes Nuggets Announcement Before Pivotal Grizzlies Game

The Denver Nuggets are at home on Friday night as they take on the Memphis Grizzlies in a crucial Western Conference matchup at Ball Arena.

Denver enters Friday’s game amid a rough patch as they have dropped six of their last 10 games but they are coming off a victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.

They will now look to pick up another victory against a Grizzlies team that has also dropped six of their last 10 games and is coming off a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday.

Of course, Friday’s matchup is a massive one for both teams in regard to the Western Conference standings with the regular season coming to a close on Sunday.

Ahead of Friday’s pivotal matchup, the NBA announced that the Nuggets would clinch a playoff spot with a victory and a loss by either the Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors or Timberwolves.

Denver currently sits fourth in the West standings with a 48-32 record that has them tied with the Clippers with the same record.

The Nuggets also sit just one game behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the third seed while the Warriors, Grizzlies and Timberwolves sit just one game behind them in the standings.

Of course, the Nuggets would love to clinch a playoff spot on Friday night but the Grizzlies also need a victory to keep their hopes alive of avoiding the Play-In after Thursday’s loss to the Timberwolves.

Unfortunately for the Nuggets they may try and clinch a playoff spot without their star point guard Jamal Murray as he continues to deal with right hamstring inflammation.

The good news for Denver is that Murray has been upgraded to questionable but he could still be in line to miss his seventh consecutive contest.

Fans can catch Friday’s matchup between the Grizzlies and Nuggets at 9:00 p.m. EST.
