BREAKING: New Report Reveals Nikola Jokic’s Reaction to Nuggets Firings Amid ‘Alarming’ Situation
The Denver Nuggets have made it abundantly clear that they intend to implement some major changes within the team — regardless of the timing of the same.
This has been made evident by the team’s decision to fire both head coach Michael Malone and general manager Calvin Booth amid a reported rift between two of the most important members of the organization.
According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the Nuggets had initially planned on firing Malone and Booth at the end of the season, but recent developments pushed them to pull the trigger less than two weeks before the NBA Playoffs.
Charania also indicated in his report that Nikola Jokic played a key role in the major shake-up. The three-time MVP did not demand the firing of Malone or Booth, but Jokic’s “frustration” over the team’s current situation was taken into account.
Charania revealed Jokic’s initial reaction to the major development.
“My understanding is as soon as the decisions were made to make these firings, (Nuggets CEO) Josh Kroenke called Nikola Jokic (and) informed him of the decisions,” Charania said.
“Nikola Jokic, I’m told, understood. This franchise, what was going on right now, it was in a bad place, and he understood the organization’s ownership’s move.”

The renowned NBA guru then went on to explain how the Nuggets’ decision was, in part, reactive to the “alarming” situation involving Jokic.
“But listen, no one has seen this level of frustration (and) irritation — some that we’ve seen publicly on the bench, some that he’s said in his comments, just not knowing where this team was going to find answers,” Charania continued.
“It was alarming for the Nuggets because we haven’t seen this externally out of Nikola Jokic, or even internally.”

According to Charania, the Nuggets organization considers Jokic’s outlook to be one of their top priorities, and it is clear that they are willing to move mountains to ensure that the seven-time All-Star remains happy in Denver.
“They want Nikola Jokic’s joy back,” Charania said.
