BREAKING NEWS: Archaeologists found the mother lode of the Dead Sea Scrolls
While searching for the incredibly mythical Dead Sea Scrolls manuscripts, archaeologists accidentally found 2,000-year-old pottery that had never before been discovered by other archaeologists.
As we all know, the myth of the Dead Sea Scrolls began in 1947, when a young Bedouin goat herder approached a nearby spelunker to rest.
This is where they stumbled upon one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time: seven manuscripts were written in ancient Hebrew that were later considered the first of the famous Dead Sea Scrolls.
This is where it all began, and since then archaeologists have been searching high and low for more manuscripts, saving them once a year to preserve the piece of history they share with the world in museums around the planet.
So, as you may have guessed by now, rumors were circulating that a new set of caves had been discovered near Qumraп that were supposedly suitable enough to contain such artifacts.
The caves that later became known as 53b and 53c were home to the Dead Sea Scrolls, no doubt, but what they didn’t expect was the little extra money they stumbled upon inside.
An extremely rare bronze cooking pot, as well as a celery oil lamp, were found in the same general area as the supposed Dead Sea Scrolls, which are believed to date from around 100-15 BC. c.
Other remains of stone material were discovered in the caves, including storage jars, jars, cups and even cooking pots, fragments of fabrics, braided ropes and strips.
This was a huge haul and one they definitely did not expect to find, to say the least.
