Newfound Cave Art: A Fresh Lens on the Past
A fascinating example is the mirrors that archaeologists have found in ancient tombs. Interestingly, these mirrors were sometimes found with remains of silk, suggesting that they may have been stored in silk bags or sachets before being placed in the tombs of men and women. These mirrors were not just everyday objects, but probably had a symbolic purpose, meaningful to both men and women. The mottos inscribed on them, such as “eternal joy,” “long life in memory,” and “wealth to my family,” indicate that they played a role in preserving memories and expressing wishes for prosperity. Even more mysterious is the mural painting of the “Nebura Pact”, discovered in the Sudan desert and dating back 4,000 years. It depicts two extraterrestrial beings extending a hand to a human woman, suggesting an interaction or agreement between different species. Surrounded by mysterious inscriptions and pigments of unknown origin, this wall painting raises many questions. Local legends tell of the “Visitors from Nebu,” who are said to have brought knowledge during a drought. This discovery could revolutionize our understanding of past extraterrestrial contact, fusing mythology, science and mystery.
Another interesting example is the discovery of an old wooden road in the Polish town of Jarosław in June 2021. Workers building a new street came across a wooden road from the 18th century. Wooden roads were rare at that time and usually led to the city gates. This discovery raises questions: Was the road little used or was its surface replaced just before it was buried? The road is only 30 meters long and although archaeologists have found other fragments of the road nearby, they do not believe they were ever connected. They not only expand our knowledge of ancient cultures and technologies, but also raise new questions that encourage us to see history from different perspectives. The secrets of the ancient world are far from completely revealed, and each new discovery brings us one step closer to understanding human civilization.
