The Denver Nuggets, one game removed from a blowout loss, secured another close win over the LA Clippers in the first-round series between the two sides.

That makes three games out of four decided by just one basket as the Nuggets and Clippers are tied 2-2 with the series headed to Denver for Game 5.

While Nikola Jokic posted 36 points, 21 rebounds and eight assists, it wasn’t the Serbian superstar who won the game for the Nuggets at the last second.

Instead, it was Aaron Gordon, though David Adelman didn’t draw it up that way.

Jokic got a last-second shot to win the game, which happened to be an airball.

Gordon was under the basket, though, and was able to secure a put-back dunk with time expiring to give the Nuggets a 101-99 victory.

Needless to say, it was a super close victory with fans holding their breath until the buzzer, when Intuit Dome was then hit with disappointment.

After the game, Jokic was a good sport about his airball. As he sat down for a post-game interview alongside Gordon, the two had jokes.

“It was a nice pass,” Gordon remarked.

Jokic simply replied, “yes,” leaning into the joke.

“Was it a pass?” Jokic was asked.

“No, no it wasn’t,” the Nuggets superstar clarified, jokingly.

Later on, the Serbian superstar was asked about the final shot, which happened to be an airball. What was he thinking?

“This is gonna be bad,” Jokic explained.

Regardless of how bad the final shot was, Jokic and the Nuggets came away victorious after his monster performance, and they head back to Denver for a pivotal Game 5.

Teams that win Game 5 in a 2-2 series typically go on to advance to the next round, making it a crucial outing for both sides.
