BREAKING: Nikola Jokic Makes Honest Playoffs Comparison to Regular Season, ‘For Me It’s…’
The NBA playoffs begin on Saturday as the first round gets underway following Friday night’s Play-In games.
One team that will begin their hunt for a championship on Saturday is the Denver Nuggets as they will face off against the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 1 of the series.
Denver enters the playoffs having won their last three games to end the regular season but it will not be a cakewalk through the first round against a red-hot Los Angeles team.
The Clippers finished the season winning their last eight games including a massive one on the final day of the regular season over the Golden State Warriors to clinch the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
With the Nuggets and Clippers set to do battle in Game 1 on Saturday, everyone has their eyes on the amount of star power in the series, of course led by Nikola Jokic.
Ahead of Saturday’s game, Jokic commented on the difference between the playoffs and the regular season and he of course gave the most Jokic-like answer possible.
“For me it’s the same thing,” Jokic said about the playoffs compared to the regular season. “It’s another game that we’re supposed to win.”
While Jokic is right about it being just another game the Nuggets are supposed to win, the pressure is building on Denver after their slow end to the season.
Of course, the Nuggets elected to fire head coach Michael Malone right before the playoffs began and they also got rid of general manager Calvin Booth.
Because of this, the roster has a ton of pressure to make another deep playoff run this season or there could be even more changes in the offseason.
Despite this, the Nuggets are sure to be a contender with Jokic leading the way but they will need others outside of the three-time MVP to step up, especially in the first round against a Clippers team that is on fire.
