BREAKING: Nikola Jokic Sends Strong Message Ahead of Nuggets-Thunder Playoff Matchup
Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets took care of business on Saturday night in Game 7 of their first-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers. After trailing 26-21 following the first quarter, the Nuggets went on to win by a final score of 120-101.
That series win has set up what should be a very tough and entertaining second-round series against the No. 1-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder.
During the series against the Clippers, Jokic averaged 24 points per game to go along with 11.6 rebounds, 10.1 assists, and 2.3 steals. He shot 50% from the floor and 45.2% from the 3-point arc.
Looking ahead to the series against the Thunder, Denver has its work cut out for them.
Jokic knows that and spoke out about the upcoming matchup after beating Los Angeles.
“They’re definitely a very scary team on both ends, they’re really playing by pushing the pace they’re playing. They’re trying to attack your back and, like, trying to attack him your position and everything. What they do is really hard, like, kind of full speed, but hopefully we can match them and succeed,” Jokic said.

In the second-round series, the top two MVP candidates in the NBA will face off against each other. Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are the favorites to win the prestigious honor.
Oklahoma City was the best team in the league during the regular season. The Thunder finished the year with a 68-14 record.
Beating them in a seven-game series won’t be easy, but Jokic and company have the experience and talent to make a run at it.
