Fifteen contenders are looking to dethrone the Boston Celtics and claim the crown for themselves.

As the playoffs progress, the league will also begin the voting process for its regular-season awards.

On Sunday, the NBA announced that Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic had been named a finalist for the Most Valuable Player of the Year.

"A clutch MVP, that’s Nikola Jokić," posted the official social media account of the Denver Nuggets.

Nikola Jokic is seeking his fourth MVP award in five seasons. He won the award in 2021, 2022, and 2024.

This season was another dominating one, with 29.6 points per game, 12.7 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game.

Jokic also ranked 9th with a 57.6% shooting percentage while becoming the third player in NBA history to average a triple-double for a full season.

The Denver Nuggets finished in a three-way tie with the Lakers and Clippers for the third-best record in the Western Conference.

With a 50-32 record, the Nuggets secured the fourth seed and will begin the postseason against the Clippers.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Giannis Antetokounmpo were the two other finalists for the MVP award.

Gilgeous-Alexander finished the season averaging a league-leading 32.7 points per game while adding 6.4 assists.

Antetokounmpo capped off the year with 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game.
