BREAKING: Russell Westbrook Shares Personal Announcement on Sunday
It has now been over two weeks since Russell Westbrook last took the court in the NBA. This was on May 18, when the Denver Nuggets suffered a heartbreaking, season-ending loss to the eventual Western Conference champs, the Oklahoma City Thunder, in Game 7 of their second-round NBA playoffs series.
Since then, the former NBA MVP has been keeping busy in the offseason. This includes attending to the continued growth of his clothing brand, Honor the Gift.
On Sunday, Westbrook took to Instagram to share an exciting personal announcement involving Honor the Gift and his wife, Nina Westbrook.
"So, you heard it here first," Nina Westbrook said in the video. "I have found a vendor for Nebi merch. I'm so excited because I want to make sure that it's going to be something that people actually want to wear. Something that I actually want to wear because I'm obsessed with Nevi and I want to wear it every single day.
"So I went through this strenuous process of trying to figure out who exactly could I get to create and design for Nebi. And we landed on Honor the Gift. So I'm excited to announce our collab. You heard it here first."

Russell Westbrook made a cameo at the end of his wife's announcement video, as the couple both had big smiles on their faces amid the big news.
For context, Nebi is Nina Westbrook's new clothing brand, which, according to its Instagram page, is expected to launch this summer. The brand is currently still "getting ready behind the scenes" ahead of its big drop, which includes collaborating with other designers.
Nina Westbrook decided to keep it in the family by partnering up with his husband's own clothing brand in what should be an exciting collab.

As for his basketball, Russell Westbrook is coming off his first season with the Nuggets. In 75 games played in the regular season, the nine-time All-Star averaged 13.3 points on 44.9% percent shooting, 4.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.4 steals, while also knocking down 1.3 triples in 27.9 minutes per game.
Westbrook, who recently underwent surgery to fix two breaks on his right hand, has a $3.5 million player option in his contract with the Nuggets for the 2025-26 season. It's possible that he opts to enter free agency this summer to try and find a better deal in the market, but at this point in his career, it remains to be seen if the 36-year-old will be able to find more money out there.
