BREAKING: Steve Kerr Sends Strong Nikola Jokic Message After Nuggets Game
The Golden State Warriors have been climbing up the Western Conference standings, prepared to make another deep playoff run under head coach Steve Kerr.
Golden State currently sits in fifth place in the West with a 46-31 record, having won five straight games.
Kerr and the Warriors defeated the Denver Nuggets 118-104 on Friday amid the NBA’s longest current win streak. Afterward, Kerr spoke with the media and shared his thoughts on Nuggets MVP candidate Nikola Jokic.
“He’s the best center I’ve ever seen,” Kerr said, per Ohm Youngmisuk. “I played against Kareem… Kareem couldn’t do all this stuff.”
Steve Kerr doesn’t like to compare eras. But asked about Jokic averaging a triple-double and career-highs in points, assists + 3-point shooting, Kerr: “He’s the best center I’ve ever seen. I played against Kareem… Kareem couldn’t do all this stuff.”

So far this season, Jokic has averaged 29.8 points, 12.8 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game, ranking in the top three in the NBA in all three categories.
In the loss to the Warriors, Jokic recorded 33 points, 12 rebound and nine assists.

Jokic has already earned three MVP awards during his NBA career. If he were to win the prestigious award this season, Jokic would join Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only players in NBA history to win at least four MVP awards.
Abdul-Jabbar holds the NBA record with six MVP awards and is second behind LeBron James in career points with 38,387.
