Tyrese Haliburton always shows up when the pressure is on.

Tyrese Haliburton is continuing to prove that he is among the most clutch players in the NBA. This has been key to the Indiana Pacers' current run so far, and it is a huge reason they are up 2-1 in the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Haliburton's poise under pressure makes him (and the Pacers) so dangerous in competitive games. Not only is he showcasing just what he can do when the ball is in his hands with a chance to win the game, but his ability to still facilitate and step up even when his team is down big is remarkable. The Pacers are building a reputation as one of the most clutch teams in NBA history, and Haliburton's ability to keep his composure and not get rattled plays a big role in that.

The Wisconsin native faced a lot of (deserved) criticism in Indiana's Game 2 loss due to his lack of aggressiveness. Instead of coming out in Game 3 and forcing the issue, Haliburton remained calm and had one of his best games of the postseason. In Game 3, he recorded 22 points on 9-for-17 shooting, 11 assists, nine rebounds, two steals, and a block.

As the Pacers inch closer to making their championship dreams a reality, they will continue to rely heavily on their top guard, who has done them no wrong up to this point.

Tyrese Haliburton is close to achieving the impossible

With Indiana's latest victory, they are now just two wins away from winning their first-ever NBA Championship in what would likely be one of the most improbable title teams in recent history. The Pacers had just one All-Star this season in Pascal Siakam, and many doubted them every step of the way. Even so, they are going toe-to-toe with the reigning MVP and the best team in the regular season, and a lot of their success is because of Haliburton and his ability to remain calm when the pressure is on.

In what may have been a must-win for the Pacers in Game 3, Haliburton just played his game and led the team to victory. It is continuing to look more and more like nothing can break his concentration, and that is a scary thought even for dominant teams like the Thunder, who are objectively the better team on paper.

There is still a lot of basketball left, and it is too early for the Pacers to celebrate. However, they have accomplished a lot up to this point, and they are very close to winning their first-ever NBA title. There is a lot of credit that deserves to go around, but perhaps nobody is more important to their success than Haliburton, who is very close to etching his name in NBA history.
