BREAKING: Warriors Turn Heads with Major Announcement on Sunday
The Golden State Warriors have widely been regarded as one of the best teams in the NBA over the past several seasons, led by head coach Steve Kerr.
Kerr has led the Warriors to four NBA titles while winning the NBA Coach of the Year award in 2016.
He has been able to influence the Golden State franchise at extreme levels, helping put on a show with some of the league's best players, such as Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant.
Several years before Kerr became the head coach of the Warriors, his first head coaching job in the NBA, Golden State was led by head coach Don Nelson.
Nelson served as the head coach of the Golden State Warriors from 2006 to 2010. That marked Nelson's second stint in Golden State, having previously served as the head coach of the organization from 1988 to 1995.
Years after his retirement from the league, the NBA paid respect to Nelson.
On Sunday, the NBA announced and the Golden State Warriors ultimately reposted that Don Nelson has been named the winner of the Chuck Daly Lifetime Achievement Award.
"31 NBA seasons as a head coach," posted the official social media account of the Golden State Warriors. "1,335 regular season wins. An all-time great NBA legacy. Congrats to Don Nelson on being named the recipient of the 2025 Chuck Daly Lifetime Achievement Award."
Upon the release of the announcement, some fans took to social media, sharing their thoughts on the latest news from the Golden State Warriors.

According to the official release of the Don Nelson announcement, presented by the NBA, the Chuck Daly award "honors the memory of Hall of Fame Coach Chuck Daly."
Chuck Daly was the head coach of the Detroit Pistons, having led the team to two NBA titles from 1983 to 1992. He died in 2009.
