Shocking! Avatar’s aliens are real: A mystery that surpasses the limits of human imagination
The idea of life on the Moon from a strange planet in the movie Avatar is being agreed upon and promoted by scientists.
In the movie Avatar, director James Cameron predicted life on a strange Moon. Now, scientists believe that scenario could be real.
In the film, the Navi of the planet Pandora, the Moon of a planet located in the orbit of the Sun, are quite special: their skin is blue, they are tall and they live in harmony with nature.
This is an idea that seems quite strange to humans because everyone understands that our Moon is an arid, airless planet.
However, James Cameron’s idea seemed to be supported when scientists found life on some planets and their Moons. This research work carried out by scientist René Heller of the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics in Germany and Rory Barner of the University of Washington and the NASA Astrobiology Institute, will be published in the January edition of the journal Biology Study.
Are there other “Navi people” living there?
Moons of extrasolar planets?
According to the author, in recent years more than 850 extrasolar planets have been discovered, that is, planets that orbit around stars. However, most of these planets are cold and arid, like Jupiter and Saturn in the solar system. Only a few of these planets have solid surfaces, and fewer orbit the Sun in the Goldilocks zone, an area of space around a star that can have water on its surface and be habitable.
Why can the Moons of inhospitable planets have life? The answer is the heat generated during friction impacting the parent planet’s surface. The planet’s gravity warped the Moon’s rocky crust and heated it. If the planet is closer to the Moon, the larger the parent planet, the more heat will be generated. At a suitable distance, the heat generated can cause the Moon to change its orbit, forming the Moon’s habitable zone.
Before NASA’s Voyager spacecraft was launched into orbit in the 1970s, it was thought that planets and moons outside the solar system would be cold and deadly because their orbits were so far from the Sun. But later discoveries by scientists show that there are many moons that are very active and may have life, such as Europa-1, one of Jupiter’s main moons, which may have a large ocean below the surface and the water here is quite warm due to heating by energy produced during friction between the planet and Jupiter.
Since 2012, the gigantic Kepler telescope has begun its journey to find a Moon almost the size of Mars or Earth, outside the solar system, capable of hosting life. Who knows, in the near future, we may find a Moon that could have life or even big, beautiful creatures like in the blockbuster Avatar.
Could life exist on moons like Pandora from Avatar? Scientists are now exploring this possibility. Recent research shows that the heat generated by friction with parent planets could create habitable zones on moons orbiting distant exoplanets. With telescopes like Kepler searching for Earth-sized moons, we may soon discover if life—perhaps even intelligent beings—exists beyond our solar system.
