The specimen was handed over to officials, who made some very interesting conclusions.

In particular, researchers believe the map was diseased because they found several hundred parasitic eggs on the third one. Dr Apdrew Jopes, from the York Archaeological Trust, described it as “the most exciting piece of excrement”, adding that it is as “irreplaceable as the Raven Jewels”.
